Animals As Leaders is an American instrumental progressive metal band formed in Washington,
D.C. in 2007. Founded by virtuoso guitarist Tosin Abasi, the band has redefined the boundaries
of metal and progressive music through their innovative approach to composition and technical
mastery.

The core lineup consists of Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes on eight-string guitars, and Matt
Garstka on drums. What distinguishes Animals As Leaders is their seamless fusion of metal, jazz
fusion, classical, and electronic music into a cohesive sound that defies traditional genre
classifications.
